Shine Bright Like Fenty Beauty

Shine Bright Like Fenty Beauty

IT IS HERE!!

Summer is over and I’m broke so do you think I would set an alarm and order some products from Rihanna’s new makeup range?

Now I don’t usually get this excited for makeup launches but this one had me all in my feelings. Everything from Rihanna to the marketing concepts to the actual makeup line was executed sensationally. She embraced diversity with open arms and launched 40 foundation shades that everyone could rock even our dark skin queens who are constantly omitted from the beauty world.

“FENTY BEAUTY WAS CREATED FOR EVERYONE: FOR WOMEN OF ALL SHADES, PERSONALITIES, ATTITUDES, CULTURES, AND RACES. I WANTED EVERYONE TO FEEL INCLUDED. THAT’S THE REAL REASON I MADE THIS LINE.” – Rihanna

Today my delivery arrived with my two birthday gifts I brought on my mother’s behalf and I could not wait to play around with my new presents. I only got the highlighter and contour and concealer sticks which cost just under £80 (inc. delivery) which is decently priced if you compare to other celebrity endorsed makeup products but would definitely recommend opting for the click-and-collect option to save those extra coins if there is a store near you.

I attempted to do a simple look  Please note I am just a young woman who is embracing her femininity with makeup and is still learning via YouTube how to slay effortlessly like Jackie (a level I will reach eventually).

The highlight is absolutely gorgeous but can be very overwhelming if you are not used to the harshness of the product! The only caution I would give is that it is very pigmented so be careful and ensure that you do not pick up too much product. Alternatively, you can use it as an eyeshadow but I have yet to try that out. The trio stix are so easy to apply and blend in so easily – no creases over here!

I commend Rihanna for the portable packaging of her products meaning you can just pop them in your bag and top up on the go if needed. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy any foundation because I had purchased the goods online and would rather test in-store which exact shade I am instead of doing trial and error and getting it wrong more than once but have heard some great reviews about the quality of the product so I will be adding that to my makeup bag.

Rihanna and her team did such a brilliant job with this range especially with the marketing of the product. You can tell that she is genuine about embracing diversity unlike most competitors and this is just the beginning of Fenty Beauty as she has apparently stocked her products for the next couple of years, so I’m sure she will be expanding her beauty line to include eye and lip products which I will definitely be spending my non-existent money on.

You can buy her products via the official Fenty Beauty website or Harvey Nichols which are linked below (available in-store too)

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter – Trophy Wife (£26)

Match Stix Trio – Deep 400 (£46)
